Is your material self-sufficient or do I need to refer to other books?

Our material is exam-oriented and has been designed keeping in mind the specific needs of our Distance Learning participants, considering the time and effort they can spare with their full-time jobs. The study material is updated regularly to incorporate all changes in syllabus as prescribed by IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking and Finance), the latest updates in banking and finance, important notifications and revised guidelines by the RBI and an all new Mock Test series to give you that extra edge in exam preparation. Our study material is comprehensive and crisp, and more than sufficient to help you clear your exam without any additional aids. Your hard work and dedication combined with the guidance and support from our faculty can work wonders for you. So much so that many of our participants both for JAIIB / CAIIB have scored 70% or even more marks in the aggregate.

How is this material different from the books prescribed by IIBF?

We have only to clarify that though books prescribed by IIBF and those available in the market are very exhaustive, yet they are mainly theoretical. In the examinations we get objective type questions, case studies and problems which require practical application of theory and in-depth understanding of concepts through a lot of practice which is explained very well through step-by-step detailed solutions to demonstrate how the answers have been arrived at. We have also given the time factor due consideration and designed our material in such a way as not to overload you with unnecessary information. Having taken care of all these aspects, we have accordingly structured our material.

What are the benefits of JAIIB and CAIIB?

Both JAIIB and CAIIB are valued only in Public Sector Banks (PSBs). Clearing JAIIB exam and CAIIB exam most importantly helps in salary increment. However, that’s not the case when it comes to private banks.

Almost all commercial banks offer one advance increment for JAIIB and two advance increments for passing CAIIB. The same is true for RBI employees too. So far as benefits of passing JAIIB and/or CAIIB in promotions is concerned, it is very much true for commercial banks and financial institutions.

How do I apply for IIBF exam?

Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), formerly known as The Indian Institute of Bankers (IIB), was established in 1928 as a Company under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1913. It is a professional body of banks, financial institutions and their employees in India. With its wide membership, it is perhaps the largest Institute of its kind in the world. And as the name suggests, the Institute conducts several certification exams in the field of banking and finance for professionals working in this field so they may continuously grow and succeed. For details on all the certification exams offered by the institute and the procedure to apply, visit IIBF website.

What are the subjects in CAIIB?

CAIIB exam syllabus comprises three papers, two compulsory – Advanced Bank Management (ABM) and Bank Financial Management (BFM), and one Elective paper of your choice from any of these subjects – Central Banking, International Banking, Rural Banking, Financial Advising, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Co-operative Banking, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Treasury Management, Risk Management.

Which optional subject is best for CAIIB?

This choice of third optional subject for CAIIB depends on the candidate’s motive or level of understanding and objective in preparing for this examination. The goal can vary from simply clearing the exam and earning additional increments to gaining knowledge and expertise in a specific area with the objective of growing professionally. Since most candidates we have come across are primarily focussed on clearing the exam so as to get that additional salary increment, we decided to go with Retail Banking as it is the simplest among the 11 options offered under CAIIB syllabus and easiest to clear. So yes, if you’re looking for a simple and easy choice, it would be Retail Banking paper.

Can we write JAIIB and CAIIB together?

You cannot appear for JAIIB and CAIIB together in one go. You need to clear JAIIB exam or DBF (Diploma in Banking and Finance) first to be eligible for CAIIB exam. JAIIB can be called Matriculation examination in Banking while CAIIB can be referred to as Graduation in Banking and we all know for certain that we cannot appear for Matriculation and Graduation exams at the same time.
