Our questions are based on the feedback shared by participants after they appear for exams to be as close to the exam pattern. We model our objective type questions on the recalled questions and these could be similar but not exactly same as the questions in the exam. But thanks to our faculty’s deep experience, vast knowledge and delivery expertise in this field, the questions developed for our Study Kits are very close to ones that come in the exam so much so that several participants have pointed out that it was though the question papers were set by us.
With online examinations in vogue currently the question papers for JAIIB, CAIIB and Promotion exams are never disclosed/ divulged externally and hence no such question bank is available in the market. What we do consider however, is the recalled questions shared by participants upon attempting the exams to design our study material. We design our MCQs based on these questions and the participants’ feedback. Therefore, they are closest to the exam pattern. So is the case with numerical problems and case studies of CAIIB. If you are looking only at practicing questions, you can try our Mock Test series available on the website under “Distance Learning.”
JAIIB study material was available both in English and Hindi till about 3 years back. But since then demand for Kits in Hindi dropped drastically, and we were compelled to discontinue supply of kits in Hindi. However, kits in English are in very simple and easily understandable language. CAIIB study material is available only in English; Study material for Promotion exams in both Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) is available in English only.
Our material is exam-oriented and has been designed keeping in mind the specific needs of our Distance Learning participants, considering the time and effort they can spare with their full-time jobs. The study material is updated regularly to incorporate all changes in syllabus as prescribed by IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking and Finance), the latest updates in banking and finance, important notifications and revised guidelines by the RBI and an all new Mock Test series to give you that extra edge in exam preparation. Our study material is comprehensive and crisp, and more than sufficient to help you clear your exam without any additional aids. Your hard work and dedication combined with the guidance and support from our faculty can work wonders for you.
We have only to clarify that though books prescribed by IIBF and those available in the market are very exhaustive, yet they are mainly theoretical. In the examinations we get objective type questions, case studies and problems which require practical application of theory and in-depth understanding of concepts through a lot of practice which is explained very well through step-by-step detailed solutions to demonstrate how the answers have been arrived at. We have also given the time factor due consideration and designed our material in such a way as not to overload you with unnecessary information. Having taken care of all these aspects, we have accordingly structured and divided our material into four or five parts.

Both JAIIB and CAIIB are valued only in Public Sector Banks (PSBs). Clearing JAIIB exam and CAIIB exam most importantly helps in salary increment. However, that’s not the case when it comes to private banks.
Almost all commercial banks offer one advance increment for JAIIB and two advance increments for passing CAIIB. The same is true for RBI employees too. So far as benefits of passing JAIIB and/or CAIIB in promotions is concerned, it is very much true for commercial banks and financial institutions.
Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), formerly known as The Indian Institute of Bankers (IIB), was established in 1928 as a Company under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1913. It is a professional body of banks, financial institutions and their employees in India. With its wide membership, it is perhaps the largest Institute of its kind in the world. And as the name suggests, the Institute conducts several certification exams in the field of banking and finance for professionals working in this field so they may continuously grow and succeed. For details on all the certification exams offered by the institute and the procedure to apply, visit IIBF website.
CAIIB exam syllabus comprises three papers, two compulsory – Advanced Bank Management (ABM) and Bank Financial Management (BFM), and one Elective paper of your choice from any of these subjects – Central Banking, International Banking, Rural Banking, Financial Advising, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Co-operative Banking, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Treasury Management, Risk Management.
This choice of third optional subject for CAIIB depends on the candidate’s motive or level of understanding and objective in preparing for this examination. The goal can vary from simply clearing the exam and earning additional increments to gaining knowledge and expertise in a specific area with the objective of growing professionally. Since most candidates we have come across are primarily focussed on clearing the exam so as to get that additional salary increment, we decided to go with Retail Banking as it is the simplest among the 11 options offered under CAIIB syllabus and easiest to clear. So yes, if you’re looking for a simple and easy choice, it would be Retail Banking paper.
Minimum passing marks for JAIIB are 50 out of 100 for each paper. However, you can clear JAIIB exam when you score minimum 45 marks in one or two subjects with a proviso that you score minimum 50% marks in all three subjects of examination in a single attempt. You can also retain credits for the subject you have passed in an attempt till the expiry of time limit for passing JAIIB exam i.e., 2 years (4 consecutive attempts). In that case you will be required to score minimum 50 marks for each subject individually. The message is loud and clear and it is to prepare for all three subjects together to get benefit of 60 or more marks in your favourite subject and just managing minimum 45 marks each of the remaining two subjects. /p>
You cannot appear for JAIIB and CAIIB together in one go. You need to clear JAIIB exam or DBF (Diploma in Banking and Finance) first to be eligible for CAIIB exam. JAIIB can be called Matriculation examination in Banking while CAIIB can be referred to as Graduation in Banking and we all know for certain that we cannot appear for Matriculation and Graduation exams at the same time.
There are several books out there but Narang’s Bankers Training Institute’s uniquely designed JAIIB books and CAIIB books are the best books if you are preparing for JAIIB exam and CAIIB exam, respectively and want to clear in the first attempt.
